Hi,
I have done a Knoppix remaster which adds Octave, octave-forge, and some other 
things. It also adds an Econometrics textbook, graduate level, about 400 
pages, which contains Octave programs as integrated examples. The octave 
programs pop up in Nedit when clicked upon, and can be run from there.

This might be of interest to people who use Octave and linux for teaching, in 
windows-centric environments. The main link is
