I just read your e-mail about PLPlot (I'm a relatively new in the
octave-sources mailing list), and found some information that would
be of interest to you and to the other readers:

PLPlot is being maintained these days.  See:

for more details.  PLPlot already appears in the unstable distribution
of Debian (www.debian.org), so it will probably be distributed with their
next distribution (which is due soon).

BTW, at the time you wrote your e-mail (1.4.98), the PLPlot home page
did not exist (created on: 4.5.98).      :)
