Here is my current list of things that need to be done for Octave that
may involve fairly basic N-d functionality:

  cell2mat
  celldisp
  cellfun
  cellplot
  mat2cell
  num2cell
  orderfields

and we still need to make cat, horzcat, vertcat, and the [] handle all
built-in and user-defined types.
