For any given discussion, please try to choose one mailing list.  I
don't think it helps much to post to both the graphics and maintainers
lists.  Perhaps we should consider merging the lists (and have only a
maintainers list)?  Neither list is very busy, and until the recent
discussions, the graphics list was practically dead.
