I think the main reason is that the graphic I use on the splash screen is allegedly public domain, but I have no proof of that. We need to decide what kind of logo we're going to use. One possibility is to use the sombrero, as it is already associated with Octave. However, if people prefer to keep things distinct, we can just go with something different, as I had done with the blackboard. So let me know what you think and then I'll ask Lee to do it. Also, I've put the new and improved web page with the "Install now!" button for Windows installation. The actual Windows installer will be there tomorrow morning. And I might as well announce version 0.9, which I sneakily released yesterday. There isn't much exciting to report, but I've fixed a number of misfeatures that were pending. The history buffer is saved between sessions and takes into account partially typed text. Files tab now has "." and ".."= . GUI now updates more often during computations. Ctrl+C now stops computations. Basically, I got it to a point where I thought a slightly wider "beta stage= " circulation can begin.
