I have no idea where the ZNS symbols come from. The restFP and saveFP, however means that you need to add -L/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.3.9.sdk/ usr/lib/gcc/darwin/2.95.2 -lcc_dynamic to your LDFLAGS. Strange, but true... And, yes, you should be able to build octave using gcc 3.4.5 under Mac OS X 10.4.3. I have done this from source, no Fink or DarwinPorts, however.
