From help-request at octave dot org Fri Dec 23 09:11:49 2005 Subject: RE: question about multiple plots From: "Steven Thijs" To: "Ronald Crummett" Cc: , "Joe Koski" Date: Fri, 23 Dec 2005 02:02:00 -0600 Hi Ronald, When I first plot something, then type figure, and then plot another thing, no new plot is generated, in fact, the new data is not plotted at all. When I look in the gnuplot window, I get the message: Set term X11 1 Unknown or ambiguous terminal type;... When I look in the manual, I find: 16.6 Multiple Plot Windows Figure (n) Function File Set the current plot window to plot window n. This function currently requires X11 and a version of gnuplot that supports multiple frames. My gnuplot version support multiple frames, but I'm not sure about the X11 thing. Isn't this something unix or linux related? I'm running octave on Windows XP... Thanks a lot for the help, and happy holidays! I was wondering about this just the other day. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steven Thijs Date: Thursday, December 22, 2005 12:15 pm Subject: question about multiple plots To: help-octave at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu > Hi, > > > > I'm running octave for windows. > > Is it possible to plot multiple figures? > > I try to use the command: figure (2) for example, > > but this just returns 2, instead of opening a new figure. > > > > Thanks for any help, > > > > Steven > > > > > > ________________________________ > > Steven Thijs > > Engineer > > ESD Design Specialist > > > > Direct Tel. : +32 (0)9 21 68 344 > > Fax.: +32 (0)9 37 46 846 > > E-mail: sthijs at sarnoffeurope dot com > > > > > ________________________________ > > Sarnoff Europe Groendreef 31 B-9880 Aalter, Belgium - Tel.: +32 > (0)9 21 > 68 333 - Fax: +32 (0)9 37 46 846 http://www.sarnoffeurope.com/ > > > > > > ---------------------------- > Sarnoff Europe BVBA BTW BE 0472.687.037 RPR Oostende > ---------------------------- Sarnoff Europe BVBA BTW BE 0472.687.037 RPR Oostende ------------------------------------------------------------- Octave is freely available under the terms of the GNU GPL.
