From help-request at octave dot org Mon Nov 7 21:17:19 2005 Subject: tetrachoric and polychoric correlations From: Mike Miller To: Help-Octave List Date: Mon, 7 Nov 2005 21:09:42 -0600 (CST) Do we have any Octave code for computing tetrachoric and polychoric correlations from cross-tabulated data? R has a package (under GPL) called "polycor": http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/Descriptions/polycor.html R also has a package for working with MV normal and t distributions: http://cran.r-project.org/src/contrib/Descriptions/mvtnorm.html For the normal: dmvnorm gives the density rmvnorm generates random deviates pmvnorm computes the distribution function and more.
