Subject: Help compiling

Hello, 
When compiling some .cc functions into .oct files, the compile completes 
without errors, but when attempting to use the functions I get errors like:

 undefined symbol: _ZN4PMPI4Comm12mpi_comm_mapE

Can anyone tell me what this means, please? I can provide more details if 
needed.
