Subject: Changing Directories

Hi,
Is it possible to change the working directory to any directory. I can't seem 
to get out of the root octave directory so i have to store all my work files 
inside of the octave directory.
Typing cd .. doesn't bring me up any more levels in the directory tree once i 
am at the octave root directory.
