From help-octave-request at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu Tue Sep 16 03:01:49 2003 Subject: spawning a shell under octave From: Stephen Simpson To: Octave Mailing-List Date: Tue, 16 Sep 2003 17:58:11 +1000 Hi all, I have successfully installed Octave 2.1.42 under Windows 2000. I'd like to use the epsTk library in conjunction with Ghostscript 8.1, and Adobe acrobat reader to view plots. I've written a batch file to take the ".eps" outputs from the epsTk library, convert them to pdf using ghostscript, and load the resulting pdf into acrobat reader... However, it's many years since i've used matlab / octave and i can't remember if it's possible to spawn an external shell from an m script. Any ideas whether it's (a) possible and (b) how to do it? regards, -- ---------------------------------------------------- Stephen Simpson Gestech Pty Ltd Unit 5, 33 Ryde Road Pymble NSW 2073 AUSTRALIA ph: +61 2 9499 7677 fax: +61 2 9499 7877 email: s-DOT-simpson-AT-gestech-DOT-com-DOT-au www: http://www-DOT-gestech-DOT-com-DOT-au/ ---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- Octave is freely available under the terms of the GNU GPL.
