I have been using all unstable installs, without significant problems, but I'm not really working these things that hard. Info on how to do this is on the fink web site. Essentially, you edit the fink.conf file and make the Trees: line read Trees: local/main unstable/main unstable/crypto unstable/bootstrap stable/main stable/crypto stable/bootstrap local/bootstrap (all one line). You may have to do a fink selfupdate to see the updated packages available. On the web site, they discuss how to do this for a single package.
