Subject: building octave forge

When I try to compile octave-forge-2001.11.02, I get error messages,
referring to missing semi-colons, missing header files and that kind of
programming errors.
Are there people out there who have been able to build octave-forge?
At the moment I cannot test older versions since the octave-forge site
at sourceforge is down.
I also would like to know how the development of Octave, and more
precisely, the integration of some of the octave-forge stuff, is going.
