From help-octave-request at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu Wed Jan 31 20:02:25 2001 Subject: shared library error in octave-2.0.16 From: Ri98030342 at aol dot com To: help-octave at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu Date: Wed, 31 Jan 2001 21:01:45 EST Apologies if this has been covered in past mailing-lists. I have successfully compiled octave-2.0.16 under Linux 6.0 ('configure' then 'make' then 'make install') and get the following error message when I start Octave: Octave: error in loading shared libraries: libm.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. Octave is correct, there is no libm.so.5 on my computer, but why is it asking for it and what do I do to correct the problem?
