Subject: matlab class() and method support in octave?

i'm trying to port matlab code which uses the class function, along with
 at  directories.  i'm guessing classes and methods are not supported in
octave (i get the error both with version 2.1.33 under win95 and 2.0.16
under linux.)  assuming that's the case, is there any work underway or
planned to add it?  thanks,
