Anyway, in the meantime the idea of a European mirror sounds great. Preferably someone with a university connection. We're also getting octave.sourceforge.net bootstrapped, but downloads won't be any faster than at matlinks, since sourceforge seems to be bogged down, even with their multiple T3 backbone servers... Chalk it up to popularity. - JD -----Original Message----- From: help-octave-request at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu [mailto:help-octave-request at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu]On Behalf Of Rolf Fabian Sent: Monday, November 06, 2000 9:34 AM To: 'help-octave UWISC' Cc: 'Julian A. de Marchi, Ph.D.' Subject: Re: Windows 2000 >... -- but for most folks this seems to work on all Windows versions: * http://download.sourceforge.net/matlinks/octave-windows-2000oct25d.exe Is this file mirrored somewhere on a faster server ( e.g. in Europe) ? This archive has about 7.2 Mb, but my downlod- connection (via netscape) never succeeded to transfer more than 500 kB before the connection was lost because a timeout occured ( after 10 trials I gave up .. ) Rolf ------------------------------------------------------------- Octave is freely available under the terms of the GNU GPL.
