Hi, all --

I recently got a script written in the GAUSS-Language that
I have to translate for the use with Octave.

Has anyone out there done this job before? Esspecially I
don't know what the ~-operator in GAUSS is for and if there 
is an equivalent operator in Octave!

Any help welcome.
