Hello.  I have downloaded the binary octave file 
from sunsite, and when I try to execute
	sh ./doinstall.sh
it tells me that 
doinstall.sh: unable to extract version number from Octave!

Any help would be appreciated.  I am running Slackware
Linux on a 486 machine.
