This issince GNUplot aims at having the maximum extent of the plot inside a certain bousing box, i.e. all the axis, title and label stuff inside the bounding box, and this bounding box is what is controlled by 'set scale', I attempted this a while ago and decided that I wasn't confident enough that it was actually going to work correctly and stopped trying. (I was trying to output a scaled airfoil profile) Craig+- --------------93CA0958D421D629775BBB Content-Type: message/rfc822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline X-POP3-Rcpt: acinma at venus Return-Path: owner-help-octave at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu Received: from bevo.che.wisc.edu (bevo.che.wisc.edu [144.92.68.141]) by venus.star.net (8.6.12/8.6.9) with ESMTP id QAA10448 for ; Mon, 2 Dec 1996 16:39:56 -0500 Received: from localhost (daemon at localhost) by bevo.che.wisc.edu (8.6.12/8.6.12) with SMTP id PAA26508; Mon, 2 Dec 1996 15:34:14 -0600 Received: by bevo.che.wisc.edu (bulk-mailer v1.3); Mon, 2 Dec 1996 15:34:12 -0600 Received: (from majordom at localhost) by bevo.che.wisc.edu (8.6.12/8.6.12) id PAA26416 for help-octave-outgoing; Mon, 2 Dec 1996 15:34:12 -0600 Received: from galileo.unl.edu.ar (root at galileo dot unl dot edu dot ar [168.96.132.129]) by bevo.che.wisc.edu (8.6.12/8.6.12) with ESMTP id PAA26461 for ; Mon, 2 Dec 1996 15:33:30 -0600 Received: from galileo.unl.edu.ar (mstorti at localhost [127.0.0.1]) by galileo.unl.edu.ar (8.6.9/8.6.9) with ESMTP id SAA04611 for ; Mon, 2 Dec 1996 18:32:39 -0300 Message-Id: <199612022132 dot SAA04611 at galileo dot unl dot edu dot ar> To: help-octave at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu Subject: Re: Matlab ginput Date: Mon, 02 Dec 1996 18:32:36 -0300 From: Mario Storti Sender: owner-help-octave at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu BTW, is there a way to know the aspect ratio of the gnuplot window? I want to have the same scale factor in both axis, since I'm plotting finite element meshes, and similar things. In Matlab 3.5 for DOS there was the axis('square') feature.
