Using the binary distribution of octave-1.1.1 for Sun Solaris 2.4 yields:

ld.so.1: octave-1.1.1/octave: fatal: relocation error:
  symbol not found: ___ansi_fflush: referenced in /usr/lib/libF77.so.2


/usr/lib/libF77.so.2 is a link to ../4lib/libF77.so.2.1, and

ls -l /usr/4lib/libF77.so.2.1
-rwxr-xr-x   1 bin      bin       327680 Jul 18  1994 /usr/4lib/libF77.so.2.1*

Can anybody explain what's going wrong?
