Subject: Problem installing/RS6000

Octave seems to have installed correctly.  But now I get the 
following message when I try to run it:

Could not load program octave
Symbol _system_configuration in ksh is undefined
Symbol _fp_trapstate_ker in ksh is undefined
Error was: Exec format error
-------------------------------------------------------
 
Did I do something wrong?  I poked around in the documentation
but couldn't find anything about symbol settings.
