My libpng was too outdated. However, becau= se there is a hell of functions depending on libpng there was no way upgrad= ing it. Two inputs: 1.) the patch I attached makes octave-forge build with an older libpng (Ver= sion < 1.27) 2.) maybe someone could add an hook into configure (I do not know how to do= this, I am not familiar with configure) to check for a.) #ifdef png_infopp_NULL b.) png_set_add_alpha() to ensure that the version of libpng fits to the needs of octave-forge. Nev= ertheless I think it is not really neccessary to create the need for the ne= w revision of the library because IMHO i. e. png_set_add_alpha() could easi= ly be replaced by the functions that are hidden behind this call.
