You have found the Fedora Core 3 LAPACK bug, which is caused by an 
overzealous compiler, and is easily solved by installing the updated 
versions of these two libraries:
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/development/i386/Fedora/RPMS/blas-3.0-28.i386.rpm
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/development/i386/Fedora/RPMS/lapack-3.0-28.i386.rpm
