It has the exact same problem my fresh solaris 2.8 build had with isascii. I've also noticed, in the course of trying to debug this, that some variables the manual talks about aren't defined. For example: octave:1> implicit_str_to_num_ok error: `implicit_str_to_num_ok' undefined near line 1 column 2 This happens in the built-from-scratch Solaris octave as well. Is this not the version I should be trying to build?
