Well, they're not really finished, but I think John might want to take a look first. The trivial functions (calendar, eomday, now, weekday) have been cleaned up. The functions datestr and datenum I think are good enough, but might need some more cleaning up before it can be included in Octave (I think). The function datevec contains __date_str2vec__, which translates a date string into a vector, and this is the 10% that takes up 90% of the time. It's not even finished yet. I think I should post the "beta" versions here first, and see what people have to say. Note0: We still need strfind for datevec and datestr. I hope someone can clean it up and submit it here... Note1: Since there are 7 files in the set, I'm submitting it as a bzip2'ed tarball.
