It seems to be working fine here on Fedora Core 1 and octave 2.1.57. I noticed few things though: Apparently you (Jonathan) do not have the rest of octave-forge installed. Octave-forge has some replacement functions for octave, perhaps vrml is using those. So people who has entire octave-forge installed will not have the problem and people who has only vrml installed will have one. Few functions in vrml toolbox do not have "endfunction" (or just "end" at the end of the m-file). Is it by design? "file" utility identifies some of the m-files as "ASCII text" and some as "ASCII English text". I wonder is some files have non us-ascii characters which confuse this particular version of octave...
