Octave does not seem to be displaying the second plot correctly when using postscript output. The upper portion of my m-file is: % mfile for hm6 % convolution % pillaged from Bob Grejda -- 25 Feb 02 clear all % Define SDOF parameters m = 10; k = 100; wn = sqrt(k/m); zeta = 0.25; wd = wn*sqrt(1-zeta^2); % Create the time vector dt = 0.001; t = [0:dt:10]; % Analytical Soln phi = atan2(zeta, sqrt(1-zeta^2)); x = (1.0/k)*(1.0 - 1.0/sqrt(1-zeta^2).*exp(-zeta*wn.*t).*cos(wd.*t-phi)); % Forcing function f = [ones(10000,1)']; h = 1.0/(m*wd).*exp(-zeta*wn*t).*sin(wd*t); xprime = conv(f, h)*dt; When the following two commands are run as the last lines in the m-file, the plot correctly shows two lines in the legend indicating that it has plotted x vs t & xprime vs t. title ("Rhys Ulerich, ME 54.1, Hmwk #6"); plot(t, x, t, xprime(1:10001)); However, when the following four lines are run as the last commands in the m-file, the resulting postscript file only shows the x vs. t line in the legend: gset term postscript gset output "hmwk6.ps" title ("Rhys Ulerich, ME 54.1, Hmwk #6"); plot(t, x, t, xprime(1:10001)); It should be displaying both lines in the legend.
