I am a double major in Math and the Numerical Algorithms track of our Computational Sciences major. I am looking or a good project to work on over the next couple of months, and was hoping i could also contribute to the development of Octave. Are there any suggestions for projects? I am looking something that could be completed in a few months of light/moderate work. Something that is covered in the undergraduate courses of numerical analysis(root finding, matrix computations, optimization, etc...). I have considered working on an LP solver, but it looks like it is pretty much done, as far as the math goes. I could work on Quadratic Programming, however I have very limited experience with them. At the same time there are really no *free* QP libraries that could be integrated into Octave( that i could find at least), so it seems like a reasonable project. Is there anything at this level that Octave is in need of? Ideas?? Suggestions?? thank you for your help, -zach Zach Frazier zfrazier at u dot washington dot edu ------------------------------------------------------------- Octave is freely available under the terms of the GNU GPL.
