Subject: Octave NT takes too long to search for files

I am trying to use Octave on NT platform. One problem I found
is that when I use any self-defined function for the first time
in an Octave session, Octave takes 5 minutes or longer
to search for it. My feeling is that Octave on Unix
platform is better.

Any help will be appreciated.
