An updated version of Boyd's semidef (semidefinite convex programming) 
package is now available at 

ftp://ftp.eng.auburn.edu/pub/hodel/semidef-oct-981030.tar.gz

Changes:
* Variable initialization added to avoid floating point exceptions
  on DEC alpha (and, possibly, other machines)
* LINUX port variables added per input from Dirk Eddlbuettel
* RCS history is included in the archive for those who are interested.

Installation:
1) Unpack the archive
2) cd to semidef-oct/SRC
3) type in "make" (to make the .oct file) or "make demo" (to make
   semidef.oct and run the semidef demo)
