Subject: Failure to receive a prompt

I am attempting to install octave 2.0.9 from a FreeBSD 2.2.5 ports package
(the four disk set - November 1997)  I have a pentium 200 MHZ machine.
The package appears to compile and install without errors, however when I
attempt to run it no prompt is returned to the screen.  It is possible to
type commands to the screen, but again there is no response sent back.  Do
I have a setup problem?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
