From owner-bug-octave at bevo dot che dot wisc dot edu Wed Nov 6 11:34:53 1996 Subject: Bug in binary distribution for Linux From: Bryan Chan To: bug-octave at che dot utexas dot edu Date: Wed, 6 Nov 1996 12:33:12 -0500 (EST) Hi, I am running Linux 2.0.24, with gcc-2.7.2, libc-5.4.7, libg++-2.7.2.1, and f2c (960717). I downloaded the binary distribtion of octave-1.1.1, but that gave a segmentation fault whenever I tried to run it. Then I downloaded the source and tried compiling it myself. The make couldn't complete due to errors in . The compiler reported that it couldn't parse the __attibute__ macros that are used in the header file. It also complained that c_c_Mapper is undefined in the file liboctave/mx-defs.h. What can I do? Is there a version of the source that's compatible with the newest libs and gcc/g++? Is there a binary distribution that works on a Linux configuration like mine? Thanks.
