From bug-octave-request Wed Jun 23 07:59:51 1993 Subject: Silly little buglet. From: "Alan Robert Clark" To: bug-octave Date: 23 Jun 93 14:58:20 SAT This is not a bug really -- but who knows it may have other implications!! It concerns the function `who' which reports the variables etc etc. It appears that if there are no variables, octave core dumps. Of course, it works perfectly when there are vars. Octave Version 0.70 {from sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/apps/math} Machine 486DX-50MHz (ie with co-pro) Operating System Linux 0.99 pl9 Error Report Floating point exception (core dumped) { and it goes ahead and dumps about 700k in core} Input file "Buglet.m" ----------------------Cut Here-------------------------- % This is THE most ridiculous bug report!!! but anyway... % It seems that doing a who on an empty octave produces core. who ----------------------Cut Here-------------------------- ========================================= ______________________ ******** *** Alan Robert Clark, Pr Eng / Electromagnetics Lab \ * ** * * Dept of Elec Eng | Wits University | * ** * * P.O.Wits |"Bugs are later known | ************ * 2050 South Africa | as Features" | * ** * * Fax (+ 27 11) 403 - 1929 | Ps 111:10;Ps 37/150 | * ** * * Tel (+ 27 11) 716 - 5404 \______________________/ * ** * *** Internet: clark at odie dot ee dot wits dot ac dot za
