I have got a problem compiling octave-0.71.1.tar.z on netbsd pc
with gcc.2.4.0 (same problrm with gcc.2.3.3) libg++2.3.3 gmake f2c
I get a
symtab.h: In method `symbol_table::~symbol_table ()':
In file included from tree-const.h:36, from tc-colloc.cc:30:
symtab.h:204: virtual memory exhausted
make: *** [tc-colloc.o] Error 1
 while doing a make in the src directory even with a 
HASH_TABLE_SIZE reduced to 64
