From bug-octave-request at che dot utexas dot edu Mon Nov 1 05:18:52 1993 Subject: Octave-0.77 manual. From: Rob Hooft To: bug-octave at che dot utexas dot edu Date: Mon, 01 Nov 1993 12:18:21 +0100 Last weekend I have read some parts of the octave-0.77 documentation in printed form (from the supplied "ps" file). I encountered some oddities that I would like to share. Section 5.3: "Other built in variables" ans: 2^2 + 3^2 = 25 ?????? Section 6.1: "Utility functions" fix(x): fix(fix(real(x)) ????? Section 7.1: "Basic matrix functions" svd(a): "if asked for 3 return value" ?????? Section 11.1: "Functions of one variable" "Optional argument sing is a vector of at" ?????? Section 15.3: "Miscellaneous plotting functions" xlabel(string): "specify a x and y axis labels" ?????? Section 16: "Input and Output" "Turn paging of completely" ?????? Section 16.2.13: "Other I/O functions" (awkwardly formatted paragraphs) Section 17.1: "Special utility matrices" "If init is equal to pi ......" (shouldn't "base" be in there somewhere?) Section: "Command history functions" "edit_history 13 169" ???????? Thanks for supplying the documentation now! Turns out that I really hadn't used all the powers of octave yet! Regards, -- Rob W. W.
